Who is Traveling-Steps

Hi, I’m Heather. I’m originally from the Chicagoland area but lived many years in San Francisco before embarking on this journey in 2014. I now live in Marrakech, Morocco. I’ve worked for 25 years in the printing industry which I still do remotely as a freelancer. My true passions in life are dance, music and travel. The conception for Traveling-Steps was born after a trip to Budapest, Romania and Istanbul. While I traveled often, I rarely put my loves for dance and travel together. During that trip, I made the decision to focus on dance and music and it changed my life. The marriage of the two created Traveling-Steps, I returned home and knew this is what I wanted to do—travel the world through the lens of dance and music.

I purchased my domain in 2014 before I left. Admittedly, I didn’t take to blogging as quickly as I would have liked, It’s a lot of work with many hats to wear. I quickly became overwhelmed with the technical side of things. I’ve taken the time to learn the many things you need to know to run a blog on your own. Now I’m ready to dive in! Every day I sit down at my computer and I’m excited to figure things out. I never stopped traveling and have many stories to share.

About Traveling-Steps Readers

Well, that’s hard to say at the moment as I’ve really just begun. I am working hard and have lots of travel coming up with many more posts to write. The communities I belong to are mostly female of varying age who share an interest in dances and music from around the globe. They travel often to study with native dancers and musicians to gain a better understanding for the culture.

In the months ahead I’ll be updating to show statistics, page views and the growth of the website and social media.
